Reflexology

What is reflexology?

Reflexology is the science of applying pressure to points on the feet to improve health. All parts of the body can be accessed through the feet and in this way we can determine what areas are under strain and require specific attention. With small movements and pressure, a reflexologist will unblock nerve pathways which stimulate circulation and aid detoxification. It will often help you become aware of your own health state and many people find it marks a turning point in how they approach their body’s needs. Reflexology is not diagnostic but is an excellent way to maintain wellbeing as its natural, safe and can be practiced on all ages.

How will I feel during and after treatment?

Each person is different and so is the treatment. Most people feel very calm, soothed and sometimes sleepy. There will sometimes be an element of discomfort but this is short lived and usually reflects the health of the receiver. As the benefits are cumulative with every consecutive treatment the discomfort decreases giving a good indication of improved circulation and lymphatic drainage.

After the treatment you may initially feel very relaxed and floaty, then over 24 hours some detox symptoms could occur: headache, tiredness, tearfulness, and thirst. This is a positive step in your body working hard to drain toxins and heal itself.
