Clinical Hypnotherapy

What is it?
Clinical hypnotherapy is a very ordinary yet incredibly powerful tool that can help you combat a wide variety of issues including anxiety, depression, generalised stress, phobias, insomnia, low self esteem or confidence and IBS to name a few.  Zofie specialises in working within the areas of depression and anxiety and has a keen interest in working with busy professionals requiring stress management and or performance enhancement tools.

What is Hypnosis?
Contrary to popular belief the state of hypnosis is a very natural and in fact an ordinary state.  If you have ever driven and realised you have been on autopilot during the journey, or been so engrossed in a television programme or good book that time has flown or you failed to notice someone attempting to grab your attention, then you have already experienced a form of hypnosis!

What is Clinical Hypnotherapy?
Clinical hypnotherapy makes use of this focused state of awareness in what can be an incredibly powerful way.  Because issues such as depression, anxiety, chronic anger, stress and phobias are not things we "consciously" decide to bring into our lives it can often seem difficult to rid ourselves of them by will power, "pulling ourselves together", or simple conscious effort alone.  One of the reasons that hypnotherapy can work effectively and rapidly is that it makes use of the access we acquire to the subconscious area of our mind during hypnosis.

The amazing changes this affords can lend weight to the idea that hypnosis is in some way mysterious or magical however the reality is that small changes can lead to great differences and ultimately, reducing anxiety, stress, and or depression will enable you to make informed decisions and deal with life well.

What happens during hypnosis?
At no time during hypnosis do you relinquish control to the therapist; just as you remain in complete control when driving on autopilot you similarly do so when experiencing hypnosis.   During a hypnotherapy session the hypnosis experience is invariably relaxing, rejuvenating and pleasant; this is especially noticeable for those individuals who have been suffering from stress or anxiety.

Solution focused hypnotherapy involves ensuring you, the client, are given knowledge, confidence and a level of understanding that will enable you to get what you want from your life.   It does not involve digging up the past.

My Approach
My approach is to offer an enthusiastic, sympathetic and at all times positive approach to each and every client and session.   I seek to maintain a highly professional yet warm and non-judgmental outlook.
