Pilates

What is it?
It is a unique system of exercises developed over 80 years ago that aims to improve strength and tone, improve posture, promote flexibility and balance. This helps create a better mind and body connection and is recommended by the chiropractors at C1 to support their work and any rehabilitation training that you have carried out at the Health Centre.

Is it for me?
One of the many advantages of Pilates is that it is suitable for most ages and most fitness groups. It is also great for those who have been suffering from chronic low-back pain and for those who need spinal rehabilitation. If it is for Pat cash the tennis player and Liz Hurley then it has got to be for you.

Classes
We offer a variety of mat work classes, which are core of Pilates, for all levels of ability. At C1 we book these in six week blocks and class sizes are kept small to ensure personal attention so that you don’t develop incorrect techniques which can be a problem with larger classes.

We can also book one-to-one sessions which may suit your needs and may be suggested if you need some special detailed assistance or are recovering form an illness or injury.
